Discovering a theory behind an action...that's the effect of watching your video and reading the article where you first used the word "crowdsourcing". Why? Because the Garagedesign project, founded by me and three more people, is a completely new business model, entirely based on making use of group intelligence. Through our website garagedesign.it we publish calls for new product design ideas (that can be submitted by anyone, not just by professional designers), choose the best, make the prototype and sell them. But there's one more innovative point: we produce on demand. Our consumer behaviour is pro-active: we produce only what has been ordered. This cost-effective model allows good design ideas to be evaluated, rewarded, tested on the market and finally to develop and become products, through a kind of co-creative shopping process.
The designers' community responded with enthusiasm. That's why we have been invited to the DMY Design Festival in Berlin to take a lecture about this innovative project.
Take a look at garagedesign.it!
